BCG Thought Leadership Design System

In 2019, I was given the responsibility of being the social media team rep on the project team that worked on BCG’s Thought Leadership Design System Refresh. This involved looking at all the prior uses of our content cards, creating a branch chart of all the prior and future classifications of each card type in the system, helping select new background images and colors, and working with the Visual Services and User Experiences teams to help them understand how social media uses the cards and what looks best on our platforms. I then created guideline PDFs for the new card types (including these general cards and the Winning the ‘20s cards below) and gave trainings to marketing coworkers around the world on web conferences to ensure that everyone that had the new template was comfortable with Photoshop and with understanding the margins and rules involved with the new card system. The template was a plug-and-play style, in that we created a few different folders for each use (for example, a five point list, a three point list, a short quote, etc.). This allowed us to keep certain card aspects static, like the logo or the stylization of a source title, while still letting users insert their desired text in the format that displayed it best.
